Vehicles we accept in Louisville

Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs — running or not, clean title or complicated.

At Bluegrass Auto Gift, we believe in the power of generosity and community. That’s why we accept nearly any vehicle, whether it’s running or not! If you have a car, truck, motorcycle, or even an old RV gathering dust, your donation can make a real difference for your neighbors in Louisville. Every vehicle donated helps fund our free benefits-research service, which connects residents with vital programs like SNAP, Kentucky Medicaid, and more. No matter the condition, your vehicle can help us strengthen our community and support those in need.

Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
1995-present

Typically, cars and sedans donated to Bluegrass Auto Gift are sold at auction or through private sale, providing maximum funds to support local benefits research. When in poor condition, parts may also be salvaged to help reallocate resources.

Louisville residents love their classic cars, and donations in this category often include the iconic vehicles seen cruising down Bardstown Road.

Pickup Trucks
2000-present

Pickup trucks often fetch a good price at auction, or they may be refurbished for resale. Donors appreciate knowing their trucks can help local families in need access vital assistance.

In Louisville, pickup trucks are essential for weekend projects and family trips, making their donation particularly impactful in our community.

SUVs & Crossovers
2005-present

Many SUVs and crossovers are sold to families who need more space for their kids and gear. When donations are in lesser condition, they may be recycled for parts.

SUVs are a popular choice for Louisville families, especially for trips to local parks or events like Thunder Over Louisville.

Motorcycles
2000-present

Motorcycles may be auctioned off for enthusiasts or repaired and sold, turning them into a fun ride for someone new. The sale of these vehicles helps support our mission.

The motorcycle culture in Louisville is vibrant, especially during Derby season, making donations of motorcycles especially meaningful.

RVs & Campers
2000-present

RVs and campers are often sold to families looking for adventure. Some may be recycled or sold in parts, providing necessary funds for community programs.

With many Louisvillians spending weekends exploring the Kentucky countryside, RV donations resonate with the local love for adventure.

Boats
2000-present

Boats may be sold for parts or refurbished, allowing new owners to enjoy the water. These donations help fund community outreach programs.

Though Louisville isn’t on the coast, our proximity to local lakes means boat donations can thrill local families eager for summer fun.

Commercial Vehicles
2000-present

Commercial vehicles are usually sold to small businesses or entrepreneurs, effectively supporting local economic growth while funding our services.

From delivery vans to work trucks, commercial vehicles play a crucial role in Louisville’s bustling economy, and their donation can help local businesses thrive.

Non-running Vehicles
1995-present

Even if a vehicle is non-running, it can be sold for parts or to salvage yards. This helps generate funds that support essential community programs.

In a city like Louisville, where car ownership is vital, non-running vehicle donations can still make a real impact in funding local support services.

Condition guide

When considering donating your vehicle, it’s important to note that running and non-running vehicles are both accepted by Bluegrass Auto Gift. Our goal is to make the donation process seamless for you while supporting our mission. If your vehicle is in good working condition, it will likely be resold at auction, generating funds that go directly to supporting Louisville residents in need. For non-running vehicles, we can still accept them, as they can either be recycled for parts or sold to salvage yards.

However, there are certain conditions we need to be mindful of. Vehicles with salvage titles or severe damage are assessed on a case-by-case basis. If your vehicle has been rebuilt or reconstructed, we’ll need to review its circumstances. If there’s a lienholder present, a release will be required before donation. Lastly, we prefer vehicles with clean titles, but we do accept donations with some restrictions.
